- They have the largest brain-to-body size ratio of all living fish enabling them to memorize and distinguish human faces and even recognize themselves in the mirror.
- Their reproduction rate is relatively slow. Adults birth little manta pups every 2-5 years.
- They love cruising in open ocean and they have to swim in order to breathe.
- Manta rays can live as long as 60 years.
- Majority of their diet is mesopelagic (deep water) plankton and fish.
- Compared to smaller reef manta ray, oceanic manta ray is larger and has different dorsal painting patterns.
